The first class will be a demo class, meaning there won’t be any charges to participate the first session.

The sessions will continue on each week on Wednesday at the same time. If you happen to miss the first class (or more), your child can still jump in anytime.

The price will be 60 euros/month.

The gym located near the Gzira church. Please see the directions below.

What to bring and what to wear

Regular gym shorts and t-shirt will be sufficient outfit for the first session.
Remember to,

Bring bottle of water
cut your nails

How does the average class look like

The first 15 minutes will be dedicated on warming up with different body movement exercises. These exercises will improve balance, coordination, and strength.

These exercises are fun, challenging and will require a little bit of teamwork from the participants. Even though BJJ is an individual sport, training is a team effort.

Getting technical

The warm-ups are followed by technique portion of the class. Kids will learn basic techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Live Grappling

Technique portion is followed by little it of live grappling. Kids can put their newly learned techniques to use in a live situation.

Live grappling is done in a friendly manner, everybody has to shake their opponents hand before the round starts, give a hug after the round is completed. Grown-ups are required to do the same thing čÖé

However, live grappling is not mandatory to participate. People consider live grappling (or ‘rolling’) to be the most fun part of Jiu-Jitsu.

Last 15 minutes is the play part of the class. We will play football, dodgeball or something along those lines. This will work as a cooldown. Cooldown plays a critical part for recovery. This will speed up the recovery and improve the conditioning.
