Below you can see all the available brands for males, females, and kids. You can see the price range each brand has, the rating of the gi and which colors are available.

Male Brands

The selection for males is very large. The top brands are definitely Grips, Tatami, Hyperfly, Gameness and Progres Jiu-Jitsu. If you are buying your first kimono, I highly recommend choosing one of these brands. The reason being, that these brands will stand the heat and heavy use.

Female Brands

The selection for females is a little bit thinner compared to Male selection. However, the brands listed are solid.

How do I choose a gi for myself?

I suggest when you are choosing the gi, look for pearl weave jacket and ripstop pants. Those are the 2 things what I want from my kimonos. Based on my experience (based on living in Thailand for few years), pearl weave and ripstop are the best material for training in warm countries. I can’t explain the science behind it, but that is something I found out when training with gi on very warm places.
I’m 176cm tall and weigh around 72kg and A1 is the good size for me.

Legal colors are:

Best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu kimono for the money

I just absolutely love Grips kimonos. My preference is their secret weapon – series.

The jacket is 100% pearl weave, which is the most durable and comfortable material. Their ripstop pants are very well produced. When you are training during the summer in the heat, the pants stay very dry for a long time.

Choosing right size

Choosing your first gi might be tricky, especially when it comes to sizes.Remember to check the sizing of the gi before buying. These are not universal sizes. These just give you an idea what does i.e. A1 mean Checkout the size charts below
